Market St Parking Garage Restoration

As part of its commitment to preserving public infrastructure, EW&R completed the restoration of the Market Street Parking Garage in Charlottesville, Virginia. The team repaired concrete and masonry deterioration, renewed sealants and coatings, and upgraded waterproofing and drainage systems to protect the structure for years to come.

Technically, the work included structural concrete repair of spalled and delaminated areas, removal and replacement of joint sealants, installation of a high-performance traffic-bearing membrane system, and application of penetrating sealers on exposed surfaces. The scope also involved localized replacement of light pole bases, reinforcement of handrail connections, and installation of supplemental floor drains to improve water management and extend service life. All repairs were performed under active garage operations, requiring phased scheduling, temporary protection, and continuous coordination with facility management.
